Winsor & Newton Artisan

As much as I respect Winsor & Newton products, I don't recommend their Artisan line of paints. Especially if you are already an oil painter and used to professional oil paint, you will find Artisan paints to be very gummy and stiff to work with. And the Artisan line is not billed as a professional line of paint. If you want to get a good idea what water soluble oils can do for you, I suggest you give Holbein Duo Aqua a try. Duo Aqua paints are much more similar to a professional oil paint than any other water soluble line on the market today.

Aqua Duo Water Soluble Paints
by: Anonymous

Gary,
Thanks a lot for your valuable tips on water soluable oil paints. I have purchased some Aqua Duo paints and can feel the difference it makes in terms of quality. They also also offer more colors than Winsor brand, which I think is an extra advantage.

Best,
Connie
